A Small Cutting

Notes, failures and small wins in keeping plants alive indoors.

Learning From Root Rot

First thing on Saturday Wilma came round, and we ended up mixing my own potting soil. If I'm honest, the real trouble was fungus gnats. The result was a fuller plant, or close enough.

Where crispy fern tips came from in October

It was wet outside, which never helps with propagating in water. In hindsight, I was too impatient with the pothos. That left longer than I'd like to admit for repotting the monstera. My bag of bark turned out to be the most useful thing all week.

I'm learning that wiping the leaves rewards patience more than effort. I'll report back once I've tried checking for pests.
